What is my highest goal in life? When the apostle Paul expressed it, he said it this way. So, whether we live or die, we make it our life’s passion to live our lives pleasing to him.” (2 Corinthians 5:9) TPT

Interestingly, Paul, in another letter, reveals that God Himself is doing everything He can to put His desires and His power in us so we will live lives that please Him. “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him” (Philippians 2:13) NLT

To put it simply, the goal and passion of life should be to live a life that brings pleasure to God.

My Passion for His Pleasure is an ongoing series of writings that will hopefully inspire you to live life for the glory and pleasure of God.

The writings on this site come out of my personal times with God. There are over 40 years’ worth of God “working in me” in my own quiet times with God that has produced hundreds of devotional thoughts that I have used for my personal spiritual growth, direction, challenge, and comfort. Because the Spirit put the desire in me to share many of these thoughts with others, I have created this site out of the passion and hope that it will not only please my Lord, but will also bring blessing to those He directs to these writings.

Because each writing is birthed out of a particular passage of Scripture, I will give the title of the article and its context in the table of contents. To benefit most, it is expected and encouraged that you read the text completely before clicking on the article. I began this discipline in the mid 70’s when the New American Standard Version was popular. This has always been the version that I have used devotionally as well as in my preaching. So, if you see some translation variations from the version you read, this is the reason why. One Hebrew or Greek word can have 4 or 5 different interpretations- all variant meanings of the same word. Writers simply translate different shades of meaning of the same word. Also, if you read a thought for thought version like the New International Version, there is license to interpret the text based upon the idea or thought of the writer as opposed to a word for word version which strictly interprets the Greek or Hebrew word into today’s English equivalent.

Again, this site is not intended to replace your person devotional time with God. It is more intended to “prime the pump” for those new to spending time with God and need help in focusing their attention so God can speak to them. Or, for those who have consistently created space to spend time with the Father, it is intended to simply be an additional spiritual supplement so encouragement, growth, and insight can be gleaned. So, welcome, my friends, to “My Passion for His Pleasure”.
